"I take in the savoury perfume wafting up from my plate, before the first morsel of tender, perfectly pink Quebec lamb disappears into my already amused bouche. (...) My wife and I are enjoying a sumptuous meal at Manoir Hovey, a luxury lakeside inn in North Hatley, a small resort town in Quebec's Eastern Townships, an hour and a half east of Montreal by car (about a four-hour drive from Ottawa). Judging by the wall of accolades outside the dining room's entrance, we aren't the only gourmands the inn has managed to win over.
Roland Mªnard, the inn's chef for the past 27 years, recently took home bronze in the national Gold Plates competition against six of Canada's top chefs. His cooking has also been f’ted by the likes of Condª Nast Traveler's reviewers and readers: he was included on the 2007 Gold List and the 2006 and 2007 Reader's Choice Awards, among other distinctions."
