Hovey appears in scenes of The Human Stain, which starrs Nicole Kidman, Gary Senise and Sir Anthony Hopkins
The inn was all lit up with dozens of heavy-duty lamps (pictured below) on a chilly night in May of last year, as Kidman and Hopkins did several takes of the same scene (the two of them storming out of a restaurant at dinner-time then smooching in the car). Other scenes were filmed during the day, in the library. The stars stayed at Hovey, which Hopkins, on more than one occasion, described as "a beautiful place". The movie is directed by Robert Benton.
