There are only 797 restaurants in the world that currently hold a DiRoNA award one of the most prestigious awards for fine dining and Manoir Hovey has just been added to this elite roster. The award will be officially presented at a gala ceremony during DiRoNAs Annual Conference on October 1, 2003, in Montreal.
"DiRoNA award recipient restaurants signify only the best in fine dining throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. I am incredibly proud of our 56 new award recipient restaurants and guarantee that they represent only the best fine dining has to offer in North America,", said Rick Powers, Chairman of DiRoNA, "A great deal of culinary talent resides in our member restaurants".
This award tops a stellar year for Hovey, which has also won high praise from the new edition of Frommers guide and been elected one of twelve most romantic hideaways in North America by the Discerning Traveler guide. Its wine list has also been given its seventh consecutive Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator magazine.
The DiRoNA award confirms the excellence of chef Roland Menards cuisine. In his 17 years of dedicated work, chef Menard and his team have established Manoir Hovey as the regions most excellent restaurant, using classic French cooking techniques to showcase products from the Quebec terroir, such as Brome Lake duck, veal from Charlevoix, pork, wild mushrooms and berries, ciders, honey and artisanal raw-milk cheeses.
